Global rice price may increase by Rs400-500 per qtl.soon

 
 
 Global rice market is likely to move up further next week as white rice export from India has been banned.As an immediate effect,Thailand and Vietnam increased rice prices by $5-10 a tonne on Friday.market experts say that global rice price may move up by 400-500 per qtl.in the coming weeks.Now India allows only non-basmati sela and basmati rice export.

Heavy rains disrupt sowing activities in Maharashtra

 
Heavy rains in Washim,Yavatmal,Akola and Buldhana in Maharashtra have  not only disrupted normal trading but also progressive planting activities in the region. There is no trade and arrival reported from  the affected area.Water logging is a major concern for farmers.Due to late rains in the beginning all Kharif palntings got delayed by 20 days.Now Excess rains are destroying new plants in the field. Even sowing is held up.As the sowing window is contracting fast,problem with farmers may increase further.In these districts sowing might be delayed by one week,if rains stop.

Large Cardamom prices surged at various markets in the latest auction

At Siliguri market, Cardamom Badadana traded at Rs. 1000 per kg, rising by 18.34% compared to the previous day.
Cardamom Chotadana was offered at Rs. 900 per kg, showing a substantial increase of 29.12% from the previous day.
 
Similarly, at Singtam market:
Cardamom Badadana closed at Rs. 760 per kg, marking a significant 16.92% increase from the previous day.
Cardamom Chotadana ended at Rs. 700 per kg, rising by 16.67% compared to the previous trading day.
 
In Gangtok market:
Cardamom Badadana finished firm at Rs. 750 per kg, showing a notable 20% increase from the previous day.
Cardamom Chotadana closed strong at Rs. 650 per kg, experiencing a substantial 23.81% rise compared to the previous day.
 
AgriWatch expects, good demand in the export market is likely to support the Large Cardamom prices and expected to maintain bullish sentiment in the coming days.

AgriWatch predicts that Red Chilli prices will remain within a stable range this week due to upcoming festive demand in both domestic and export markets with marginal decline of INR 500-1,500 per quintal.
However, as sowing activities accelerate, prices are expected to decline starting from August onwards.
 
Furthermore, AgriWatch expects increased supply in the upcoming week (if weather remains favourable) due to profit booking by traders and market participants.

Odisha Govt. approves INR 5 crores for Pulses & oilseeds procurement

Odisha govt. has approved Rs 500 crore for implementation of pulses & oilseeds procurement under PSS for Kharif 2023-24. State Cooperative Marketing Federation would procure on behalf of NAFED in the state. The state govt. has introduced 5 years schemes, starting from 2023-24 to 2027-28, with an objective to support PACS, LAMPS, RMCs, FPOs, WSHGs with a target of reaching more than one lakh farmers in next 5 years. The objective of this scheme is to save farmers from distress selling and ensure economic upliftment.

Mustard oil prices witness slight upward momentum

The prices of mustard oil witnessed a slight upward momentum as of yesterday in various markets, also there was a slight increase in prices for expeller oil in the Jaipur market. The upward movement of mustard oil prices can be attributed to the recent rise in prices of competing oils, particularly soy and palm oil.
 
On July 17th, the Black Sea Grain deal between Ukraine and Russia expired, and there were attacks on Ukraine's major ports. These events are expected to have an impact on Ukraine's sunflower oil exports and the global supply of sunflower oil. Consequently, this news caused prices of major competing oils like soy oil and palm oil to rise in the international market. Since domestic palm oil and soy oil closely follow the trends of the international market, it is likely that their prices will increase in the coming days. As a result, mustard oil prices are also expected to rise, supported by the increasing prices of competing oils.

French Soft Wheat harvest completed by 58% till 17th July.

As per data given by FranceAgriMer, French soft Wheat harvest has been completed by 58% which was 33% in the previous week but behind last year’s percentage of 79%. They further mentioned that around 80% of the crop is in good to excellent condition at the same pace as the previous week. However, they added that dry weather in the coming week may affect the crop. While durum wheat harvesting was 89% complete up from 65% in the previous week.
